Customize

The Customize API (Customizer) is a framework for live-previewing any change to WordPress. It provides a unified interface for users to customize various aspects of their theme and their site, from colours and layouts to widgets, menus, and more. Themes and plugins alike can add options to the Customizer. The Customizer is the canonical way to add options to your theme. With Customize options you can make changes on a single page or on the whole website. You will find these options on the left upper side of your site:

Typography and colors:

  • Menu Typography:
    • Menu font family –  This option allows you to change the font type for menu items;
    • Menu font weight – Here you can select from drop down list the font weight;
    • Menu font size – Here you can select the font size for menu items;
    • Color menu – Here you can change the colours for the menu;
    • Hover color menu – Here you can select the colour of the hover on the menu;
  • H1 Heading Typography:
    • H1 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H1 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H1 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H1 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • H2 Heading Typography:
    • H2 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H2 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H2 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H2 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • H3 Heading Typography:
    • H3 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H3 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H3 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H3 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • H4 Heading Typography:
    • H4 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H4 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H4 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H4 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • H5 Heading Typography:
    • H5 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H5 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H5 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H5 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • H6 Heading Typography:
    • H6 Font family – Here you can select the font family for the item;
    • H6 Font weight – Here you can select the font weight for the item;
    • H6 Font size – Here you can add the font size for the item;
    • H6 Color – Here you can select the colour for the item;
  • Text Typography:
    • Text Font Family – Here you can select the font family for the text;
    • H6 font weight – Here you can select the font weight for H6
    • Light colour text – Here you can select the light colour for the text.
    • Text font size – Here you can add the font size for the text.
    • Dark/White colour text – Here you can select the colour for the text.

Site Identity:

  • Site title – The Site Title runs off whatever text you type here. You can use all caps if you want, but most themes will naturally make the text capitalized. If your theme does not, simply place the text in all caps to get the look you want.
  • Tagline – The Tagline is the short bit of text underneath your blog.
  • Type of menu – Here you can select the style of the menu for the site.
  • Upload Logo – Here you can upload your own logo.
  • Footer Copyright – Here you can add the Copyright text in the footer.
  • Site Icon – Site Icons are what you see in browser tabs, bookmark bars, and within the WordPress mobile apps. Upload one here! Click Select Image to open the Media Library. Select an image from it or upload the new image from Upload Files Tab screen and click the Select button at the bottom right.

Blog page:

  • Show/Hide sidebar – Here you can hide or show the sidebar on the blog page.
  • Show/Hide information list – Here you can hide or show the information list on the blog page.

Albums page:

  • Select albums style – Here you can select the style for the portfolio pages.
  • Select column size – Here you can select the size of the columns.
  • Select category – Here you can select the category which will display on the pages.
  • Limit post albums – Hre you can select the count of the post albums.
  • Select style album post – Here you can select the style of the album post.
  • Select column size post – Here you can select the column size for the post.
  • Select popup type for the gallery – Here you can select the type of the popup for the gallery.
  • Text for the protected gallery – Here you can add the text for the protected gallery.

Colors:

  • Header Text Color – Here you can select the colour for the text of the header.
  • Background Color – Here you can select the colour for the background.

Header Image:

  • Click “Add new image” to upload an image file from your computer. Your theme works best with an image with a header size of 1000 × 250 pixels — you’ll be able to crop your image once you upload it for a perfect fit.

Background Image:

  • Here you can add the image, which will display like the background.
  • Menus:
    • Menu Name – Here you can add the name of the menu.
    • Menu Location – Here you can select where this menu appears. If you’d like to change that, pick another location.
    • Menu Options – Here you can enable the automatic options which adding the top-level pages to this menu
  • Menu Location:
    • View Location – Your theme can display menus in one location. Select which menu you would like to use.

Widgets:

  • Sidebars are the narrow columns to the left or right of your blog posts. Each section in the sidebar is known as a “Widget” that you can add or remove, and move up or down.


Homepage Settings:

(You can choose what’s displayed on the homepage of your site. It can be posted in reverse chronological order (classic blog), or a fixed/static page. To set a static homepage, you first need to create two Pages. One will become the homepage, and the other will be where your posts are displayed.)

  • Your homepage displays –  Here you can select what exactly your homepage displays ==> Your latest posts/ A static page
  • Homepage – Here you can select which page will display like the homepage.
  • Posts page – Here you can select which page will display the posts.


Import Demo Data:

  • Here you can select which content you want to import on your side.


Additional JS:

  • Here you can add the JS Code.


Additional CSS ;

  • Here you can add the CSS Code.
